Foreign Ministry: Unconfirmed Information on Death of Sudanese Nationals in Moroccan Nador City

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it has received information from Sudan Embassy in Morocco indicating that a number of illegal immigrants tried to storm the fence separating the Moroccan city of Nador and the Spanish-controlled enclave of Melilla, and that a number of illegal immigrants died after that, including two Sudanese citizens, according to unconfirmed sources.

The ministry said that Sudan Embassy in Rabat, on the same day of the incident, contacted the concerned Moroccan authorities to obtain official information, adding the Moroccan authorities promised to provide the embassy with what was required upon the completion of the investigation process and the verification of the facts.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that it has contacted the Embassy of  Morocco in Khartoum in the same regard, and the embassy confirmed that it will communicate with the authorities in Morocco, and will provide the ministry with any information in this connection.
