Foreign Ministry Affirms Importance of Opening Office of Human Rights Commission in Khartoum

Khartoum,  (SUNA) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Asma Mohamed Abdalla, Tuesday received at her office head of the technical delegation of the Human Rights Commission, Ms. Juliet Revero, and the accompanying delegation.

The minister has welcomed the delegation and referred to the importance of opening a country office of the commission in Khartoum, affirming the readiness of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, all the concerned authorities and the Sudanese parties and the civil society organizations to provide the required support and to help disseminating awareness about human rights and peace.

The minister praised the role of the commission in enhancing the situation of human rights, stressing the importance of training and dispatching experts to boost the efforts of Sudan for achieving progress in the human rights field.

The head of the Commission’s delegation has appreciated the positive developments in Sudan, hoping that the efforts and cooperation will continue to improve the human rights situation.

She affirmed readiness of the Human Rights Commission to support Sudan in the different aspects relating to human rights.
