The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mariam Al-Saddiq Al-Mahdi, received in her office Saturday the Ambassador of China to Khartoum, Ma Xinmin, and discussed progress of the bilateral relations and the cooperation between Sudan and China.
The Minister expressed Sudan’s gratitude for the continuous China support to the Sudanese revolution and the peaceful transformation of power, including medical support during the coronavirus pandemic.
She raised progress of the Sudanese-Chinese relations Chinese experiences in several areas, including the infrastructures, oil and mining.
The minister has reviewed the arrangements for the Paris Conference, scheduled to be held in next May.
She gave a briefing on the importance of the Paris Conference for Sudan in the field of investment, debt relief, and the presentation of Sudan of the revolution to the international community.
The Foreign Minister also explained Sudan’s position on the file of the Renaissance Dam and the importance of reaching a binding legal agreement before the second filling.
On his part, Ambassador Xinmin conveyed the greetings of the Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, to the minister, praising the strategic relations between the two countries and the pivotal role of Sudan in maintaining security in the region.
He also stressed the importance of boosting the bilateral relations, and invited the Minister to visit Beijing at the earliest opportunity, and renewed his country’s commitment to providing all assistance and support to Sudan.
