The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Maryam Al-Sadig, following her metting today with the Rwandan President Paul Kigami, indicated in a press statements to (SUNA) the Rwandan President’s deep understanding of Sudan’s stances and clear sympathy with its just cause regarding the Renaissance Dam.
She conveyed to President Paul Kigami an oral message from Prime Minister, Dr. Abdullah Adam Hamdouk, and the greetings of Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs briefed the Rwandan President on situation in Sudan in general, the negotiations of theGERD and the efforts made by Sudan to reach an agreement acceptable to all parties. She added that President Kigami has expressed keenness to develop bilateral relations between Sudan and Rwanda, affirming his personal participation in the Paris Conference of Sudan Partners.
Foreign Minister pointed to Rwanda’s distinguished experience in comprehensive national reconciliation and diversity management enabled its rise and development, noting to President Kigami’s stress on empower, support, and participation of women in public life in all African countries to ensure growth and economic and social development in Africa.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Hassan Abdel Salam, Director of the African Administration, and Eng. Mustafa Hussain Al-Zobair, Head of the Technical Staff at the Ministry of Irrigation.
Dr. Maryam Al-Sadig, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, has arrived the capital Kigali yesterday evening, coming from the Kenyan capital Nairobi, as part of a tour that includes a number of African countries to explain Sudan’s position on the developments of the GERD.
