Foreign Minister and Canadian Charge d’Affaires Discuss Ways to Consolidate Relations

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mariam Al-Saddiq Al-Mahdi, received in her office Wednesday the Charge d’Affaires at the Embassy of Canada to Sudan and discussed progress of the bilateral relations and means of strengthening them in the fields of energy, mining and higher education.

The Canadian Charge d’Affaires has appreciated the progress achieved by Sudan in the field of human rights, referring to the keenness of Canada to support Sudan in the fields of human rights, good governance and democratic transition.

He pointed to the humanitarian aid presented by the government of Canada and its support to the girls’ education in Sudan through the UNICEF.

Dr. Mariam has expressed thanks to Canada for its support to Sudan, calling for expansion of the cooperation to include the fields of education, health and training.
