First Quantity of French Aid To Flood-Affected People Arrives at Khartoum Airport

Khartoum (SUNA) – The first shipment of urgent French support for victims of floods in Sudan Saturday afternoon arrived at Khartoum Airport, as part of the French aid of 27 metric tons of urgent support.

France’s Ambassador to Sudan, Emmanuelle Blatmann, expressed her pleasure on arrival of the first batch of emergency aid provided by France to the victims of the unprecedented floods that affected the lives of civilians in Sudan.

“I take this opportunity to express, on behalf of the French authorities and on my own behalf, our sincere condolences to the victims of these devastating floods,” she said in a press statement at the airport.

Ambassador Platman has affirmed the keenness of France to stand along the Sudanese people in these difficult times, indicating that France has decided to provide 27 tons of relief materials to the Sudanese authorities, composed of family tents, cooking tools, blankets and water purification tablets.

She indicated that this assistance comes in addition to any humanitarian aid provided by France within the framework of joint work with the European Union countries.

The Ambassador of France assured that her country will continue its strong support and solidarity with the Sudanese people and the transitional government in the country.
