Preparations have been completed in the French capital, Paris, for the launch of the Paris Conference to Support Transition in Sudan, Monday morning, amid extensive international presence and international, regional and local interest in this great event.
The Prime Minister’s Adviser for International Partnerships, Omar Gamar-Eddin, told SUNA that businessmen and officials of major banks and European and American financial and administrative houses have flocked to Paris to meet with Sudanese officials and businesspersons to discuss joint partnerships and investments with them.
The advisor to the prime minister for international partnerships and head of the technical committee to prepare for the conference said to SUNA that all arrangements have been completed for the Paris conference with the arrival of the President of the Sovereignty Council and the Prime Minister and their accompanying delegations, prior to the opening session of the conference at 09:00 am tomorrow morning.
Gamar-Eddin emphasized that the importance of Paris Conference stems from the fact that it seeks to present Sudan with its new face to the world and networking with the international community, and that the issue of paying arrears and exempting debts will give Sudan a historic opportunity to reintegrate into the global economy, especially since the major banks will open their doors to capital that would flow into Sudan and loans that help create joint ventures with Sudan.
The head of the technical committee to prepare for the conference said that the era of extending hands for aid and donations had ended as announced by the Prime Minister, and the era of smart partnerships that benefit Sudan and other countries has begun, indicating that the energy sector has investment opportunities in the billions, as well as the agricultural and animal resources sector.
