Dr. Hamdouk Stresses Importance of Paris Conference in Creating Partnerships

Khartoum,  (SUNA) – The Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk, has affirmed the importance of the Paris Conference for Support to Sudan, scheduled in next May and organized by the French government, in creating investment partnerships between Sudan and other countries, especially in the fields of infrastructures, agriculture, energy, mining and communications, besides contributing to the dealing and writing off Sudan debts.

This was expressed by the Prime Minister at a preparatory meeting held Wednesday at his office in the presence of the Ministers of the Cabinet Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Industry, Investment, International Cooperation, Energy and Petroleum, Transport, Agriculture and Mining, in addition to the advisors of the Prime Minister.

The meeting heard reports from the concerned ministries on progress of their preparations for the conference, as well as the projects that the government will present during the conference in the fields of infrastructures, agriculture, energy, mining and communications.

The meeting reviewed the program of the Paris Conference, which will start with an investment and economic platform that will be addressed by the Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk, and a number of ministers, after which a meeting will be held in the presence of a number of heads of state and representatives of Sudanese civil society who will participate in the civil society forum.

It is to be recalled that the Prime Minister will take part in the Africa – France Summit that will be held in the second day of the conference.
