Dr. Hamdouk receives Feltman

The Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk, received at his residence today, Jeffrey Feltman, the US President’s envoy for the Horn of Africa, his assistant Brighton Nouf, and Bryan Shawkan, the American Chargé d’Affairs in the Khartoum.

The meeting discussed the political situation in the country, and the importance of preserving the democratic civil transition process, leading to free and fair elections in which the Sudanese people choose their representatives at the end of the transitional period.

The meeting, also reviewed the current political crisis in the country and means to overcome it by adhering to the Constitutional Document, the Juba Agreement for Peace in Sudan and the current partnership.

On the same day, a quadripartite meeting was held that included General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant-General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council, and Prime Minister Dr. Abdallah Hamdouk, along with US envoy Jeffrey Feltman.

During the meeting, Mr. Feltman affirmed the United States’ firm and strong support for a democratic civil transition in accordance with the wishes of the Sudanese people that they have expressed in all peacefulness and commitment to non-violence, urging all parties to renew their commitment to work together to implement the Constitutional Charter and the Juba Agreement for Peace in Sudan.
