Khartoum (SUNA) – The First Vice – President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, Saturday received in his residence at the Airport Quarter in Khartoum the delegation of South Sudan State for the peace celebrations headed by the Vice – President, Hussein Abdul-Bagi.
The delegation included the Advisor of South Sudan President and chairman of the southern mediation committee, Tut Gulwak, and a number of ministers and senior officials in South Sudan government.
The Advisor Tut Gulwak said, during the banquet given by the First Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council in honor of receiving the delegation, that their visit comes within the framework of the ongoing arrangements for the peace celebration Sunday in Khartoum.
He praised the efforts of the First Vice President for establishing peace in South Sudan State and his concern with the implementation of the peace agreement, stressing that peace agreement is a great achievement for Sudan and for all those affected in the displacement camps in Blue Nile, Darfur, South Kordofan and other areas.
He said that the Republic of South Sudan seeks strong and strategic relations with Sudan, indicating that the officials in South Sudan are discussing with their brothers in Sudan economic issues, the freedoms and the cooperation in the field of food, with the aim of achieving prosperity and progress for the two countries.
He thanked the First Vice – President of the Sovereignty Council for his warm reception and generous hospitality to the delegation since their arrival in Khartoum on Friday.
The delegation of South Sudan government arrived in Khartoum on Friday evening as part of the ongoing arrangements to celebrate on Sunday the arrival of the leaders of the parties in the peace process who are signatories of Juba peace agreement for Sudan, at Freedom Square in Khartoum.
