The First Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, has underscored importance of strengthening bilateral relations between Sudan and the Republic of Chad, especially during the transitional phase that the two countries are going through, praising the great role Chad plays in realizing peace in the region.
Daglo affirmed during a meeting in his office at the Republican Palace today with the visiting President of the Chadian Transitional Military Council, Gen. Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno, the importance of joint action and coordination in all areas regionally and internationally to achieve the common interests of the two peoples.
The First Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council called for activating the bilateral mechanisms between the two countries, in order to push bilateral relations to wider horizons during the next stage.
For his part, the President of the Chadian Transitional Military Council affirmed that the two countries are linked with strong bonds of friendship.
He added that the two countries need cooperation during the transitional phase, and intensified work to consolidate security and stability in the two countries and the region.
