Daglo chairs Defense and Security Council meeting

The Defense and Security Council chaired by the First Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Gen. Mohammed Hamdan Daglo held a meeting Thursday at the Republican Palace and discussed urgent security issues concerning the internal and peace and security.

Defense Minister Maj Gen. Yassin Ibrahim said in a press statement that the council expressed concern over the security violations of the military nature and the growing phenomena of exploitation of the military uniform to commit crimes that threat the societal peace and security by the elements belong to regular forces, security bodies and the armed struggle movements.

“The council affirmed the formation of a joint forces and granting it the appropriate mandate to resolve negative security phenomena” the minister stressed.

General Yassin pointed out that the Council directed the concerned authorities to speed up the approval of laws and legislation that prevent chaos and breach of security, and to organize demonstrations, processions and peaceful expression, in a manner that does not contradict public freedoms.
