The First Vice-President of the Sovereign Council, Lieutenant-General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, chaired today an emergency meeting included Dr. Al- Hadi Idris, member of the Sovereign Council, Al-Taher Hajar, the Governor of Darfur region, Meni Arko Minawi, the Finance Minister, the head of the Justice and Equality Movement, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim. And all the leaders of the armed struggle movements in the presence of the members of the Joint Higher Military Committee to discuss the developments and incidents Koolagi and the surrounding areas in North Darfur state.
The Political Secretary of the Justice and Equality Movement, Vice-Chairman of the Joint Higher Military Committee, Dr. Suleiman Sandal, indicated that the meeting approved the formation of a committee headed by the second commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Lieutenant-General Abdel Rahim Dagalo, and representatives of the armed forces, the police, the General Intelligence Service and the Attorney General, and the membership of all the struggle movements.
He added that the meeting decided the immediate move of the committee to North Darfur to inspect on the ground and investigate the facts about the incidents in those areas, noting that the meeting discussed in detail the developments of the incidents and information received by the security services, and adopting security measures that would restore calmness in those areas, pointing to the formation of a joint force from all parties to go immediately to the mentioned areas.
