Commissioner: The Number of Ethiopian Refugees Crossed Into Sudan Tops 11,000

Gadarif (SUNA) – Minister of Interior, Lt-General, Al-Teriffi Idris Dafalla and the accompanied delegation inspected, Thursday, the overall situations of the Ethiopian refugees who fled the conflict in the neighboring Ethiopian region of Tigri.

The minister lauded the great efforts exerted by the state for hosting the newcomers.

The minister pointed out that their visit come in the context of the plan designed to stream line the situations of the Ethiopian refugees and taking the necessary measures concerning health and securing the refugees in accordance with the international conventions.

The Refugees Commissioner said the visit aims at getting acquainted with the establishment of the refugees camps prior to extending the requested assistances, referring that the number of the newcomers amounted to 11,000.
