CBS approves launching of global Visa cards by Omdurman National Bank

The Central Bank of Sudan has approved the launching of Omdurman National Bank to a global smart card service for Visa Card, according to the license issued to the bank by the Visa company with reference number (BID of 10081766)on the first of January 2021.

The CBS has instructed Omdurman National Bank to adhere to all its provisions of Payment Systems Administration Circular regarding controls and procedures for issuing and accepting international payment cards.

The Deputy General Manager of Omdurman National Bank, Mr. Yahya Mohammed Mukhtar, noted that the certification is an advanced step for the banks to open up the national economy towards globalization, pointing out that Omdurman National Bank (the first bank in Sudan) has completed its readiness to issue and accept international payment cards (visa cards for all customers and dealers with the bank, pointing to the practical steps taken by the bank to link with international payment systems.
