Canada denounces use of live ammunition on peaceful protestors

Canada on, Thursday, condemned the use of live ammunition on peaceful protesters that took place last night before the Army HQs, in Khartoum.

Press statement issued by the Canadian embassy in Khartoum extended condolences to the families of victims, and which those injured speedy recovery.

“The right to peaceful assembly and association are the bedrock of democracy and must be promoted and protected at all times” the statement stressed.

The statement welcomed the Prime Minister’s call for immediate investigations, and call for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.
