Al-Burhan: Sudan have no Desire for Clash or Escalation with Ethiopia

The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council has General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, has ruled out Sudan resort to a war scenario with Ethiopia, stressing that Sudan sought to obtain its rights during negotiation and to reach compromise with its neighbors, stressing the need to reach a binding legal agreement to preserve the rights of future generations for water.

Interviewed by the French 24 TV channel, Al-Burhan said that Sudan relations with Ethiopia necessitate reaching a satisfactory and legal agreement, adding that Sudan does not have a desire for clash and escalation with neighboring Ethiopia, but Sudan right for sovereignty over its lands will not be hindered by any obstacle.

He pointed out that the Paris Conference for Support the Democratic Transition in Sudan, which was launched Monday in Paris, provides an opportunity for Sudan to return to the international community, restore its leadership in the region and to revive its economy.

Al-Burhan has expressed thanks to the President of France for holding the Paris Conference for Support to the Democratic Transition in Sudan to help Sudan solve its economic issues, indicating that the conference is an important step for Sudan move to the future.

Regarding Sudan relations with the United States, he stressed that they are normal after the change that took place in Sudan, adding that Sudan is now open to the world.

On the initiative of the United Arab Emirates to solve the problem of the Renaissance Dam, he said that Sudan hopes that all the initiatives will be integrated and under auspices of the African Union, adding that we believe in the African solution and trust in the ability of the African Union, but he called for guarantees to reinforce the African solution.

On the anniversary for the dispersal of the sit-in, Al-Burhan said that investigations will determine the perpetrator who will be punished, indicating that those who were arrested are now in the hands of the Public Prosecution.

He stated that serious efforts are being made to establish the parliament, referring to the understandings that were reached with the revolutionary forces to form the Parliament in the near future.

On the Palestinian issue, he stressed the need for a two-state solution and legitimate decisions between Palestine and Israel, expressing his regret for the events happening in Gaza against the defenceless civilians.

He noted that the normalization with Israel has nothing to do with the right of the Palestinians to establish their state.
