Al-Basher Announces UNAMID gradual withdrawal from Darfur

Khartoum,  (SUNA) – President of the Republic, Field Marshal, Omer Al-Basher has announced the gradual withdrawal of UNAMID from Darfur in terms of the fact that their mission is over and that there is no reason for their presence, especially after people returned to their villages and homelands, citing the peace that prevailed in the Shtaiya region of South Darfur as the last region that witnessed bloody events and destroyed dozens of villages.

Speaking to the Youth Secretariat at the National Conference, in the Friendship Hall Sunday,Al-Basher stressed the state’s interest in youth as the present and the future of the nation, stressing their interest in their rehabilitation and training and giving them confidence in the leadership of the Renaissance.

He also, also confirmed the achievements made by young people through the modernization of the defense industries of the armed forces, which participated in exhibitions abroad displaying more than 170 Sudanese products.

The President lauded the agreement signed recently by the disputed parties in South Sudan State, saying that it would have a great impact on South Kordofan and Blue Nile.
