The Head of the European Union delegation in Sudan, Ambassador Robert van den Dool has confirmed that the family support program in Sudan is one of the important components of the Transitional Government reform program, which aims to ease the economic impacts of these reforms on the Sudanese and the most vulnerable families.
This came after the transitional government launched a family support program in Sudan on Wednesday, February 24th.
The EU On Thursday, February 25, agreed with the World Bank on the second phase of the European Union’s contribution to this program by extending an additional 70 million euros (85 million dollars).
The first phase which amounted to 93 million euros (110 million US dollars) was On September, 27 last year.
The contributions of other member states of the European Union, brings the total contribution of the European Group to the family support program in Sudan to 310 million euros (375 million US dollars).
Ambassador Robert van den Dool announced to SUNA, that the European Union strongly supports the Transitional Government in implementing these reforms, and expresses happiness to support the family support program in Sudan, which constitutes great contribution.
