​​​​​​​Dr. Hamdouk meets USAID Administrator

Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk met, today, at his office, in the Cabinet HQ, the USAID Administrator, Samantha Power and the accompanied delegation in the presence of the Cabinet Affairs, Foreign Affairs and the Finance Ministers, in addition to the US Charge d’ Affaires.

Dr. Hamdouk welcomed the US delegation visit, expressing his thank to the US people and government for supporting Sudan at this historical stage of the country’s transformation towards establishing a firm democratic system, achieving comprehensive peace, and implementing the Juba Agreement for the Peace of Sudan.

He reviewed, during the meeting, the complications of the transition, explaining his initiative (The National Crisis and Transition Issues-the Way Forward).

The meeting discussed the issue of the humanitarian and development cooperation in the light of the developing Sudan-US relations which the US government wants to focus on as a strategy for stability and growth in Sudan and in a way that enhances cooperation between the two countries to serve the common interests of the two peoples.

The meeting also tackled the proposed US (700) million dollars support to Sudan, which will be used on the development priorities of the government.

The USAID official has expressed pleasure over visiting Sudan in this important time, She explaining  that she saw change and hope in the Sudanese people, despite the current economic difficulties facing the country.
