The Wali (governor) of West Darfur State, Gen. Khamis Abbakar, stressed that the issue of Genaina city needs a deep dialogue between its components, especially with the youths, to determine their needs.
Addressing the opening sitting of Genaina University at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Monday, the Wali expressed his commitment to enhance the security and humanitarian situation in Genaina city, calling on parties to live up to their responsibility to achieve security and stability in the state.
Abbakar pointed out that the disturbances in West Darfur State from time to time were a result of the lack of justice among the citizens, adding that his government will not allow the situation in Genaina to continue in this way.
The Wali (governor) of West Darfur State described the situation in Genaina as unfortunate, stressing that the circumstances that led the country to this situation were a consequence of the lack of acceptance of the other and the inability of the elites to manage the country’s diversity and vast resources.
He affirmed the importance of changing the community into one of tolerance, adding that his work in the coming period will be focused at the security, social and humanitarian fields
