Media expert and member of the Sudanese Council of Elders Professor Ali Shommo has described the current political crisis that the country is going through, as unparalleled before.

Shommo, speaking at the Sudan News Agency’s Forum today, said that various initiatives were presented to tackle the crisis situation until there was no room for more initiatives that are similar in essence, noting that the matter now requires convincing all parties to sit down to each other, face the facts and work hard to find effective solutions and bypass the stage of danger.

He also pointed out that the media has become the most important player in directing the course of events, noting that the current crisis is being managed from the sides of its directives through social media and by more than one foreign party, warning against plots of what he described as foreign circles against Sudan.

In the same context, His Eminence Bishop Hammad Koko, a member of the Council of Elders, presented at the press conference a system to address the situation the country is going through and the need to develop a wise vision to describe the elements of the crisis and then put in place a mechanism to deal with it by providing the basis for convergence of views by recognizing mistakes and apologizing for them, and then crowning the endeavor with sincerity in work and love in expressing intentions.
