The Security Committee in the Red Sea State issued statement on the implications of the incidents that took place in Port Sudan town in the past two days.
The statement said some quarters of the southern part of the town witnessed targeting of the joint forces by some outlaws who opened fire directly on the forces injuring a soldier of the Rapid Support Forces.
The statement added that on Saturday morning a quarrel happened on board a bus during which a person suffered serious injury that led to his death.
Police recorded information at Daim Musa Police station under article 130 of the Criminal law.
The statement explained that after relatives of the deceased received the body for burial a road was blocked leading to stoppage of traffic as outlaws fired gun shots injuring two persons who were taken to hospital.
The statement pointed out that a joint force rushed to the area, opened the road and maintained security at the area.
It indicated that at 8:00 pm Saturday two persons riding a motorcycle threw two hand grenades on a gathering of citizens in a club at Salabona market killing three men and a woman and injuring three other persons affirming that the perpetrator of the crime was arrested.
Another hand grenade was thrown at Al- Besairi Hotel at the big market area but no causalities were reported.
The committee assured the citizens that the law enforcement organs are capable of controlling such outlaw incidents and imposing security and stability and bringing culprits to justice.
