PM convenes ministerial meeting on situations in Red Sea and S. Kordofan States

Prime Minister Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk convened emergency ministerial meeting for discussing security crises in Red Sea and South Kordofan States.

The Prime Minister directed during the meeting dispatching a number of ministers to the Red Sea State as the delegation leaving to the state includes Ministers of Interior, Transport and Health besides leaderships of the various security organs.

Dr. Hamdouk stressed importance of imposing strict security measures on the ground to curb any outlaw incidents and arresting all those proved involved in the acts of violence.

He also directed the delegation to hold talks with the political, security and community leaderships in the state to address the issue.

For his part, Interior Minister Gen. (police) Ezz-Eddin Al-Sheikh affirmed security forces’ readiness to maintain security in areas experiencing tensions in the Red Sea and South Kordofan States.

He added that joint forces would head immediately to the two states to control the situation and realize security for all citizens.

It is worth noting that the Prime Minister has been in constant telephone contacts with the governors of the Red Sea and South Kordofan States over the past few days to follow up on the government’s response to these security breaches and their containment.
