More than 44,000 IDPS returned to their original areas in W. Darfur

International Organization for Migration (IOM) has affirmed that 44500 IDPS who entered into Genana area due to disputes that  have been erupted in various areas inside and around Genana  in West Darfur since the  beginning of the year 2021 returned to their original villages during the past few weeks.

IOM estimations showed that up to mid of last June Genana and its surrounding areas received more than 105,000 IDPS.

The proportion in number of IDPS arriving into Genana declined by 30% in June comparable to May 2o21, said the organization.

This according to IOM is an evident showing the return of the IDPS to their original areas.

From the total number of returnees the IOM figured out that nearly, 168000 returned to Al-Jebel County, 15000 returned to Kirindyoung 1 and Kirindyoung 2 camps, 6800 returned to some areas in Genana, 3350 returned to Bat-Al- Sultan and 2700 returned to areas outside Genana town.  ِِ
