The Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk, returned home Saturday evening after his participation in the Mini-Summit of African Heads of State and Government to Support the Replenishment of the International Development Agency, hosted by Abidjan, capital of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, in response to the invitation of Ivorian President, Alassane Ouattara.
Member of the delegation, Dr. Adam Al-Heraika, said in a press statement upon return at Khartoum Airport that the mini-summit was attended by representatives of (22) African countries, including (11) heads of state and government.
He indicated that the address of the Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk, at the opening sitting of the summit, received a great welcome from the participants.
He said that the Prime Minister explained in his address that Sudan was among the 15 founding countries of the International Development Agency (IDA) in the year 1960, and benefited from its membership in the Agency in financing the second phase of the Gezira Scheme and the building the Rosseires Dam, in addition to other infrastructural projects.
