Al-Burhan Meets IGAD Envoy for S. Sudan

Khartoum, (SUNA) – Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Lt. Gen. Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan ,has reiterated Sudan commitment to achieve peace in South Sudan State.

This came whenAl-Burhan received Tuesday at the Republican Palace, the envoy of Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) to South Sudan and reviewed the developments in the peace process during the 100-day deadline set by the guarantor countries of the southern parties to complete the terms of the peace agreement, during a recent summit in the Ugandan capital of Kampala.

The IGAD official outlined in a press statement following the meeting that he briefed Al-Burhan on the developments on the developments of the peace file of South Sudan, referring to the joint understanding between the IGAD member states, especially, the guarantor countries which include Sudan and Uganda.

He expressed confidence for reaching positive results during the coming months.
