Al-Burhan briefed on outcome of mediation delegation visit

President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Gen. Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan was briefed on the findings by the South Sudan mediation team, with regard to the issues assigned to it, most notably the eastern Sudan file.

The President of the Sovereignty Council, receiving today at his office at the Republican Palace deputy head of the mediation delegation and Minister of Investment of the Republic of South Sudan Dr. Dhieu Mathok, commended the great efforts undertaken by the mediation delegation, affirming his full support for the outcome the parties reach.

In a press statement after the meeting, Dr. Mathok said that the delegation briefed the President of the Sovereignty Council on what was reached in the eastern Sudan file, indicating that the competent committee led by Gen. Shams-Eddin Kabbashi, Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, had contacted the parties to the peace process and it is expected that results will be reached soon.

He added that the mediation delegation has made great progress with regard to the issue of wealth sharing in the center and north tracks, and an agreement is expected to be signed in the coming period.
