Qatar provides Ramadan assistance to over five thousand families in Khartoum

Khartoum,  (SUNA)- The embassy of the state of Qatar in Khartoum on Friday launched a caravan of Ramadan assistance to over five thousands families in Khartoum state, following a directive by the Qatari Deputy prime Minister and foreign Minister, sheikh Mohamed Bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani.

Ambassador Rashid Bin Abdul Rahaman Al Naimi, has pointed out in press statement that the project include the distribution of basic commodities to limited income families who are particularly in need of such items in the holy month of Ramadan

The ambassador commended the role played by the Qatari charity organizations operating in the Sudan and those who are used to throwing Iftar for the fasting persons in some Khartoum residential areas.

The ambassador has meanwhile stressed that his country is equally working on development and service projects in Darfur region of western Sudan where bidding has already been finalized for the Qatar for Darfur development project that comes with the implementation of the Doha document for peace in Darfur, covering the five states in the region.

The five projects in Darfur would each benefit fifty thousand people, providing all basic services, he said.
